Non-contact capture
Structured-light workflows document geometry without molds or physical replication.
Laboratories & Testing
Non-contact structured-light capture for research, collections documentation, public interpretation, conservation monitoring, and digital preservation.
Overview
Stella Nova provides controlled artifact digitization using portable structured-light systems selected for detailed objects and larger collection materials. Service design is based on the object, surface, research question, permissions, and required deliverables—not a one-size-fits-all scan.
Structured-light workflows document geometry without molds or physical replication.
Processed meshes, dimensional information, technical metadata, and project-specific derivatives.
The entry service level includes a web report with an embedded interactive 3D viewer.
Higher service levels add preservation derivatives, textures, checksums, documentation, and controlled research downloads.
Service levels
Interactive web report, embedded 3D viewer, object summary, core capture record, and approved attribution.
Designed for public interpretation, teaching, project review, or controlled stakeholder access.Web access plus processed model, still renders, dimensional reference, capture notes, and condition observations.
Designed for collections records, exhibits, education, and project documentation.Downloadable research derivatives, measurements, structured metadata, method record, and approved texture or geometry files.
Designed for analysis, comparison, publication, and reproducible scholarly use.High-resolution derivatives, textures, checksums, preservation metadata, reconstruction, monitoring, immersive-media, or fabrication preparation.
Defined through a custom scope based on object, rights, preservation, and technical requirements.Collections governance
Collection authority, ownership, custody, and scanning permission are documented before capture.
Indigenous, sacred, funerary, restricted, or culturally sensitive materials receive explicit access and use controls.
Public display, downloads, derivative works, commercial use, attribution, embargo, and revocation are recorded separately.
On-site capture is currently available at Stella Nova. External museum, collection, and field deployment requests are evaluated through project-specific service agreements and partner logistics.
Digitization intake
The review records dimensions, material and surface behavior, handling restrictions, location, service level, public or controlled access, cultural sensitivity, deadline, and collection authorization.
