Equipment & Capability Sponsorship

Equip teaching, research, fieldwork, and public analytical service.

Stella Nova accepts qualified support for instrumentation, software, standards, maintenance, training, consumables, field systems, and laboratory infrastructure.

Overview

Current capability priorities

Equipment support is reviewed as an operating capability, not a stand-alone purchase. Each accepted package identifies the instrument or resource, installation requirements, training, maintenance, calibration, consumables, responsible personnel, access rules, and reporting obligations.

Archaeometry & XRF

Portable and benchtop analysis, certified reference materials, calibration standards, sample fixtures, and data-quality infrastructure.

Luminescence & geochronology

Light-controlled preparation, measurement systems, irradiation and dosimetry support, environmental sampling, and protocol validation.

GIS, LiDAR & field systems

Survey-grade positioning, remote sensing, environmental sensors, rugged computing, power, storage, and field-data acquisition.

Fabrication, electronics & computing

Electronics benches, test equipment, machining and prototyping access, research computing, storage, and technical software.

Priority packages

Support is accepted in defined, operational forms.

Instrument acquisition

New, demonstration, or serviceable equipment with documentation, accessories, and an identified technical contact.

Review includes installation, utilities, safety, warranty, service, software, and operator training.
Operating support

Calibration, standards, consumables, maintenance, service agreements, software licenses, and replacement components.

Support may be designated to a named laboratory, course, research program, or public-service capability.
Facility buildout

Benches, environmental controls, power, networking, secure storage, light control, safety systems, and preparation infrastructure.

Scope is documented through drawings, budget, procurement record, installation plan, and acceptance testing.
Training & access

Manufacturer or specialist instruction, method development, curriculum integration, operator qualification, and supervised student access.

Accepted programs define who may use the capability and what records are required.

Institutional accountability

Every accepted sponsorship receives a documented record.

Purpose and designation

The agreement identifies the capability, intended users, courses, research, services, and restrictions.

Lifecycle budget

Acquisition, installation, training, service, consumables, staffing, insurance, and replacement planning are recorded.

Access and stewardship

Authorized users, scheduling, safety, data handling, maintenance responsibility, and custody are defined.

Impact reporting

Reports can document courses, users, projects, samples, publications, public outcomes, and capability uptime.

Equipment sponsorship intake

Submit a specific instrument, funding, software, training, or infrastructure opportunity.

The review records the support relationship, capability area, value, condition, technical requirements, timing, restrictions, recognition, and reporting expectations.

Contact and organization

Provide the person authorized to discuss the submission and the organization connected to it.

Equipment or capability support

Describe the specific instrument, funding, infrastructure, training, or operating support being offered or requested.

Purpose and supporting record

Explain the intended outcome, relevant constraints, available evidence, and the decision or deliverable the work must support.
